How to resize an image online

Images submitted on the 'Place Your Ad' page need to be no larger than 2 Megabytes in order to prevent dropouts. 
Images may be resized easily online should you not have the appropriate software on your computer. 
The following instructions are quite detailed to assist those who may be inexperienced users. 
 
 
 
   
STEP 1:
Save your photo to your desktop so it will be easy to locate. e.g mine is called IMAGE_1867

 
STEP 2: 
Make a copy of this file in case something goes wrong and also save it to your desktop. Call it a different name. e.g my original was named IMAGE_1867 so I named the new one IMAGE_1867copy (to rename an image right click on the image, select 'rename' from the options and typing the new name in the white box, then hit the 'enter' key
 
 
STEP 3: 
Right click on the following link : http://www.photosize.com  and select the 'open new Window' option and drag the new window to the right so you can see this window and the new window at the same time. In this way you will be able to switch from the instructions to the Photosize website easily.

 
STEP 4: 
Click on the 'browse' button to locate the photo on your desktop (e.g IMAGE_1867copy ). Make sure it is the 'copy' file. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Click on the image and its name will now display in the 'File name' field. Click on the 'open' button. 

 
STEP 5: 
The location of your photo should now show up in the browse Field e.g mine is C:\Users\david\Desktop

Where it says " Choose a height or width you want your image to be" leave it at the default setting of 800 pixels width and Click 'Submit'

 
STEP 6:
Watch for a little orange window which will open up.  You will need to scroll down to see it. You will be asked : Do you want to open or save the file? 

 
STEP 7:
Click on the little black triangle next to 'save' which will activate a popup menu. Select the 'Save as' option.

 
STEP 8:
You will receive a warning saying the file already exists and asking if you want to replace it. Select 'Yes' as you want to replace the existing large file with the new resized copy.

 
You should now be able to upload the new resized photo from its location on your desktop to the 'place your ad' page.
